Winter at Tremblant

Wonderful inside and out

Mont Tremblant, which sits at 875 meters, is one of the highest summits in the Laurentians, in Québec, and one of the largest skiing areas in Eastern Canada, with 96 trails and 3 snow parks covering 269 hectares on four mountain faces. Another incomparable asset: it offers the most stunning, breathtaking view of the surrounding Laurentians.

A 90-minute drive from Montréal, Tremblant is a resort that is popular among sportspersons as well as the more contemplative who appreciate this pedestrian village for its size, originality and sophistication.

Outdoor activities cover a full palette: alpine and cross country skiing, winter mountain biking, snowshoeing, sleigh riding, dog sledding, snowmobile tours, tube sliding, ice skating, ice climbing and ice fishing.

Those who are more skittish are happy in the spa, the cinema and the casino after having explored some of the 30 so fashion, toys, sports and arts boutiques around.

Everybody meets for the after-ski activities, nightlife in and around the sports areas, and cultural events, such as Tremblant’s 24h where celebrities and sport enthusiasts join efforts in a ski, run and walk challenge to raise funds for major children’s foundations. The Festival Rando Alpine Tremblant will also bring together experienced alpine touring enthusiasts or just beginners to share their passion and enjoy themselves on the weekend of January 8-10.

At some point, one has to rest and eat! The variety is there: 13 lodging establishments of all kinds and 75 restaurants, bars, brasseries and juice bars that offer gastronomes - as well as people in a hurry - a wide array of local, international and exotic cuisines.

That’s why so many families and couples from Canada and North America love Tremblant and why international jet set personalities alike don’t hesitate to board a flight or helicopter to get there – Air Canada operates a daily flight from Toronto between December 18 and the end of March.

Exhilarating Holiday Season celebrations

Tremblant has a snowmaking system, Avalanche, one of the most sophisticated in North America, which has over 1,000 snow guns. It ensures impeccable snow conditions in a fairytale setting.

Between December 20 and January 4: illuminated Christmas trees, shows with the Grelot family, street entertainers and the mascot, Toufou.

Santa Claus is expected on December 24 around 3:30 PM followed by Acapella hymns by the Santa Girls.

On December 31: outdoor activities that welcome the New Year start at 8:30 PM with a show on snow followed by disco dancing and fireworks.

Novelties as well

The new kid zone, Riglet Park and the TAM-TAM with its narrow trail enhanced with games, obstacles and sculptures of animals, such as the porcupine and the beaver, provide sledding tips and safety regulations drawn from the Mountain Code of conduct.

A new undergrowth area offers 8 acres of pleasures that follow the Tunnel slope.

Welcome to winter!

And also its famous spring skiing! With a t-shirt or even a bathing suit and ski boots…
