Hotel 71 in Québec City

An easy-to-remember address

The softness of the velvet and the warmth of the wood blends well with the modern white and gray decor of this beautiful hotel lobby, which proudly includes its street address in its name.

71 Saint-Pierre Street is indeed a magnificent 19th century building with a neoclassical façade, with an imposing portico and columns, once home to the National Bank of Canada.

The hotel's 60 rooms, some of which offer incomparable views of the St. Lawrence River, Cap Diamant and Île d'Orléans, will provide you with the most modern, trendy and comfortable hotel experience, while being at the heart of the history of Québec City.

Located in the Old Port area, Saint-Pierre Street, which can easily be walked from one end to the other, allows you to discover the architecture and history of Old Québec with Place-Royale and the Petit-Champlain neighborhoods. From there, you can even take a funicular ride, which has been a part of the city's landscape since 1869. It will take you to the foot of the Château Frontenac at the Dufferin Terrace while offering you a spectacular view. Recommended for those who do not like steep hills!

The Museum of Civilization is located just in front of the hotel and the almost twenty art galleries around will delight art lovers.

Hotel 71 offers free valet parking for those who prefer to walk and guests can even enjoy a bike for a few hours for free.

To spoil ourselves

The rooms are equipped with a Nespresso coffee machine, L'Occitane products are offered in bathrooms equipped with rain showers and the bedding is of exceptional quality. Customers have been so pleased that the hotel offers pillows and duvets in its boutique.

An espresso-lounge shares a space with the boutique, where you can sip your coffee around a large table and comment on the headlines in the newspapers.

In the lobby, a beautiful and very modern wine area offers 8 private wines by the glass. It’s a help-yourself area where you can get one half or a full glass of wine with a smart card you receive upon registration. Ingenious and very chic!

Hotel Gallery

Hotel 71 is associated with the Vincent et Moi Gallery, which aims at a socio-professional integration for artists living with mental illness. Thus, the works of four artists occupy different spaces in the hotel, and a multifunctional room is even reserved for them. The works can also be purchased.

Delectable

Breakfast and other meals are offered at the trendy Italian restaurant Il Matto, in a bright setting, where once again history and modernity rub shoulders. A clever illumination system brings the open kitchen and the bar to life, and the walls are adorned with old photos in sepia colors with huge dimensions.

It offers simple and tasty cuisine, in tribute to the recipes of the mother of the owner, Rocco Cortina. The generous portions can easily be shared. That is indeed what we did with the dishes of veal agnoletti and the parpadelle with mushrooms, both absolutely tasty. The service, led by Antoine and his team, is just as impeccable and warm.

Fast booking

The hotel is at the forefront for observing the 40 Grands Voiliers that will be sailing in Quebec City from July 18 to 23 during a race to mark the 150th anniversary of Confederation. But it must be done quickly!

71 rue Saint-Pierre is an address that is now in our address book for Quebec City. For its comfort, the pleasure on the eyes, the warmth of its welcome and all of the little details that make a stay at the hotel remarkable.
