Hotel Y Montréal and the Auberge YWCA

A well-kept secret in Montréal

In the heart of downtown Montréal, Hotel Y Montréal and Auberge YWCA are among the only social economy hotel establishments in the city.

These two establishments could benefit from being better known. They can delight all travelers while participating in the development of responsible and sustainable tourism locally and globally.

In the city center

The 62 peaceful and welcoming rooms offer excellent value for money. They are well-located in downtown Montréal at the corner of Crescent and René-Lévesque Streets. They are a short walk from the Museum Quarter, the Bell Center, restaurants and shops on St. Catherine Street, universities and other tourist attractions. In addition, Bixi bikes are at the door, as well as two metro stations and various bus lines, including the airport shuttle.

It is a nice alternative for those who want to visit Montreal with family without breaking the bank, because it offers rooms with single occupancy, double, triple or even quadruple.

Whether at the hotel or at the Auberge, all rooms are private and entitle you to various services such as free Wi-Fi, a computer room, a common kitchen and a laundry room, all to make your stay most enjoyable! There is even a thrift shop on site, which makes for a place of interest to hang out!

A fair and responsible tourism choice

These two institutions are the only social economy hotels in Montréal whose full benefits are redistributed to the community through the programs and services of the YWCA Montreal, one of the community organizations with the longest history in the city.

For more than 142 years, the YWCA has accompanied hundreds of thousands of women and girls to build a better future. The organization is part of the global YWCA movement, which has 34 member associations in Canada. There is only one Y for women in Montréal. In 2016-17, more than 14,000 people, both women and men, stayed in these institutions, generating net revenues of nearly $420,000. These revenues are essential to continue the mission of the YWCA Montreal.

To make a difference

Staying at the Y Montréal Hotel or Auberge YWCA is more than just spending a night in a comfortable, affordable and convenient hotel; it's a commitment to oneself for others, it's about being socially engaged and helping change things while traveling.
