The Eastern Townships: a gourmand's delight

Year round, and especially between October 15 and the end of the autumn when it is still possible to enjoy a bicycle or a car ride on dry roads for a weekend: the taste buds, the eyes and the spirit are in for a feast in the Eastern Townships, a region in the province of Québec.

Explore one of the three mapped and marked itineraries.

  • The Road of the 21 wineries, which spreads over 140 km in the Brome-Missisquoi region with an on-your-own or guided visit to visit the rosés, ice wines, reds and whites.
  • The Townships Road, which crosses 30 small towns and covered bridges and magnificent historical houses built in the 18th and 19th centuries by the loyalist Americans, Scottish and Irishmen.
  • The Summits Road, 193 km between Mont Mégantic and Mont Ham. For an astronomy evening at the ASTROlab or a daytime visit to the majestic lakes.

Supply and tastings

A balado-discovery GPS self-guided tour, “Gourmand dans les Cantons”, allows for the discovery of more than 90 places where producers and boutiques are certified “Créateurs de saveurs,” open for discoveries or “Cafés de village,” selected for their quality. Are you already salivating at the idea of cheeses, pumpkins, honey, breads and other delicious fresh local products?

Eating and sleeping

To extend the experience even more, here are a few friendly establishments where you can sleep comfortably at a reasonable price after a dinner of refined local cuisine offered by a “Chef créateur” in a warm atmosphere.

  • Auberge des Appalaches, Sutton
  • Auberge du Joli vent, Lac-Brome
  • Maison Chez-nous, Granby
  • Pierre de feu, Estrimont Suites et Spa
  • Le Pleasant, Hötel et Café, Sutton.
