Belize

A long stay on the barrier reef

The second largest reef in the world, Belize’s Barrier Reef is only minutes away from Ambergris Caye Island.

Idyllic is not even close to describing this site, which is surrounded by approximately 200 other small keys in the Caribbean Sea, close to the coasts of Belize and Yucatan.

Needless to say the selection of schools, services and diving sites is almost as diverse, notably in Naui, Paddi and Ssi.

Moving

During a long stay, unless you want to dive nonstop, you will want to see what is going on terra firma.

The village of San Pedro has bars and restaurants, the famous Great Blue Hole, a baboon sanctuary, Mayan archeological sites, wooden houses and traces of English architecture, etc.

Or red, black or white mangroves and many observation sites for 200 species of birds.

To reach these attractions, bikes, golf carts and small boat rental services are never far away.

Long-term rentals

Rentals and property management enterprises, such as B-Lease Management offers villas, condos or apartments can fit every budget.

The selection is vast in the north of Boca del Rio for those looking for the shade of a tropical forest, as well as in the south, for those who prefer sunny beaches.

Mmm…!

In the centre of tables that overflow with fresh, juicy and colorful tropical fruits, crayfish, mussel, octopus, scallop, even sometimes shark, grilled or served a la plancha with Creole, Maya or Spanish influences, take center stage.

If you are visiting at the end of May, you will be able to take part in the Chocolate Festival that features Mayan traditions, which are the origins of chocolate. The Festival, scheduled from May 22 to 24 in the village of Punta Gorda, has a different theme every day. Do you feel like tasting bacon chocolate?

Wild or relaxed

Latin music and reggae contribute to the ambiance and feeling of freedom that is shared in English or Spanish.
