A Royal Weekend

In London indeed!

Since the excellent series about Elizabeth II, "The Crown,” has been a hit on Netflix and most of us are looking forward to season 2, why not treat yourself to a royal getaway in the vicinity of the Queen?

At The Rubens at the Palace

With its details that remind us of the splendor of the years when the aristocrats used to meet there - beginning with their livery doormen - and its modern comforts that have adapted to new technologies, this 4-star hotel located right next to Buckingham Palace in the heart of London is ideal for a royal weekend.

This is especially true since the hotel offers specials like 3 nights for the price of 2 in a suite. On Sunday, guests are offered breakfast until noon and the departure time is pushed back to 6 pm.

With family

Children under 12 years old are welcome free of charge. Staying right next to the Queen is always a bit exciting and they will undoubtedly be impressed by the change of guard at the Palace.

If your family includes a pet, they are welcome as well. A toy and a treat are even offered upon arrival. In addition, a "Do not disturb / pet sleeping" card is supplied, and his "bed" will be done and a bathrobe will even be provided. You can also celebrate his birthday with a cake. After all, we are in England, near the Queen and her beloved dogs.

So much to do and see!

Harrods, Selfridges, the Victoria and Albert Museum, Big Ben and the London Eye, the Royal Opera House, St James's Park and Trafalgar Square are not far away.

To spoil yourself a bit more, why not take a city tour by horse-drawn carriage, explore the city by boat, treat yourself to a very English Five O'Clock tea or a gastronomic meal at Rubens and enjoy the meats that are cut by the same butcher who supplies the kitchens of the royal palace.

And John, the concierge, is always happy to find tickets for the show you want to see, including one of the 35 musicals that are out, or to advise you on what to do in the city.
